"It cannot possibly take this long for one person to bathe! Something may be wrong. Perhaps we should break down the door to check?"
Bell shot Youth a sidelong glance. "You seem awfully eager to keep Fred company in there. Should I be ready for a show?"
"It is not like that and you know it! No matter how many times you say it, it will not be true!"
"Uh huh, sure," with that, Bell directed his attention back to his latest book.
"She's probably just having a bubble bath. A few candles, some epsom salts, maybe a glass of wine..." Derrick's conjectures were interrupted by Genius's protests. "Yeah, but if she doesn't hurry up soon, I'm not responsible for what happens to her bushes!" His exclamation was punctuated with a little 'gotta potty' dance.
It was at that moment that Fred edged out of the door to the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her body and another around her hair. Her cheeks were fire engine red and her eyes were firmly trained on the ground as she rushed towards her bedroom as quickly as her current state of dress would allow.
"Fred are you well?" Youth's shouted inquiry was completely ignored as Fred slammed the door of her bedroom behind her. Youth shrugged as he looked back at the group. "She is able to run. That is a good sign, is it not?"
"Great sign. Now, coming through!" Genius shouted as he made a beeline for the bathroom door--and nearly ran straight into Gene who was also wearing nothing but a towel himself. "Whoa! How did you get in there? I thought Fred was--" The words died on Genius's lips as the gears started turning and the pieces started to click together. He stared at Gene, then gestured wildly towards where Fred had run off to, all the while trying to pantomime the amount of brain break he was experiencing.
"It looks like I there was a show and I missed it." Bell looked up from his book, his visible eye scrunched in amusement. "Shame. You'll invite me for the next one, won't you?"
Gene just shrugged and grinned at the lot of them. "Well, you know how it is. With this many people in the house it seemed like a good idea to conserve water by sharing a shower." Fully aware that he was radiating smugness at this point, he didn't even bother trying to be convincing. As he walked past, Derrick nudged him in the ribs with an elbow.
"That's one way to get rid of the harem pants, huh?"
