Rosalind peaked around the corner of the book-store's aisle. She had specifically not asked what was in the back room. Because that would imply she was curious. Which she was not. She was doing research - to catalog what materials could be found in the bookstore, and which could not.
Book chuckled to himself as he watched her oh so non-chalantly look around that side of the shelf for the third time, after all already looking around the other side twice. Oh! There she goes!
Rosalind finally got up the courage to walk around - not noticing that the highbacked chair that was facing away from her actually had someone in it.
"May I help you find something?"
Rosalind nearly jumped - she'd been walking around that edge of the store and had only just come into view of the person.
It was an adult woman with long black hair tied into a braid... in the front of her body. She was definitely reading something, but Rosalind couldn't tell if it was material from this area or not.
"I had started to wonder if you would ever walk this way - you've been sneaking around for an hour now, miss...?"
"Uh- Rosalind. How- how did you know about that? Could you hear me?"
The woman closed her book and closed her eyes in quiet contemplation. "It is a kind of hearing, yes - and a kind of seeing. Here," she handed the book to Rosalind, "perhaps you will enjoy this one. It is the only one I have found that struck my fancy."
Rosalind accepted the book and blushed furiously. It had two women on the front.
"Oh? I was right then."
The young scientist shook her head and turned away. "I don't know what you're talking about. And you haven't even told me who you are."
The older woman smiled. "Ah, forgive me. I wanted you to ask me first. Please, call me Bellflower."
Rosalind finally turned back around. "Bellflower... that's a pretty name."
They chatted for over an hour as they went back through the stack of books that Bellflower had accumulated. They just kept laughing and laughing at one ridiculous porn story after another involving at least two women.
"HOW CAN THEY WRITE STUFF LIKE THIS? It doesn't make any sense!" Rosalind tried to keep her voice low, but was cracking up even as she did so.
Bellflower giggled lightly from her chair. "Oh you know men and their over-active imaginations. I'm not surprised by a great deal of it."
Rosalind held up the first book again. "This truly is the only one worthwhile in the whole place. Who wrote it?"
A broad smile came across Bellflower's face as she thinned her eyes in amusement. "I did."
Blushing furiously, Rosalind looked down again. "I- I see... Well, you're very good."
"Oh, it takes the right inspiration, I think."
Bellflower slipped easily out of her chair and onto the floor where Rosalind was sitting cross-legged. She ran the back of her hand along each side of Rosalind's cheeks. "You're a beautiful young woman. And shy, but intelligent. I like that."
It was out of sheer surprise that Rosalind didn't move. Only stared into the other woman's eyes. Just what is she... thinking?
"Would you... like to be my muse... for awhile?" Bellflower inched closer until her free hand touched Rosalind's thigh.
Dutiful anon has finished! BELLFLOWER/ROSALIND 8D
