Kazahana woke up on a warm, bony, not-too-comfortable futon. Still half-asleep, she gave it several hard punches to restore its softness and let out a yelp as it shot upright, tossing her across the room.
"Toushi?!"
"WHAT THE HELL, KA--" And then he seemed to seize up, body going rigid and face turning red as a beet. Eyes wide as... what was the expression? Teacups? No, bigger than that. An inhuman noise creaked out of his throat and he fell over, huddling almost in a fetal position in a desperate attempt to hide his nudity.
The still-lumpy futon let out an oof! as he landed on top of it before the blanket erupted into a mass of shaggy red hair and black tattoos. "Toushi, what the fu--"
Kazahana watched, feeling a strange sense of detachment as Kiba went through the same exact process. The only difference was the wall-shaking "FUCK!!!" that Kiba let out. She shook her head and picked up a shift from where it had--apparently--been discarded on the floor the night before and pulled it over her head. Probably, she should have been panicking and flailing, but the boys on the other side of the room seemed to be doing a better job of that than she possibly could. She raked her fingers through her hair, then crossed her arms and leaned against the wall.
"Are you finished?"
"Uh." said Kiba, stopping in mid-curse. "Yeah."
"NO! What the hell! Were we drunk?! We had to be--can shinigami get drunk? Well?!" He whirled on Kazahana, eye twitching.
She could feel her calm snap in two. "What are you looking at me for?!"
"WELL YOU'VE BEEN HERE THE LONGEST! YOU SHOULD KNOW!"
"I DON'T KNOW ABOUT HOW SHINIGAMI GET IN THREESOMES!"
"WELL YOU KNEW LAST NIGHT APPARENTLY!"
"SO DID YOU!"
Her hand shot out and grabbed Kiba by the hair as he tried to slink away. "Any ideas?"
"Uh... ow, let go." He rubbed his scalp, wincing. "...Do you really think we wanna know?"
Half an hour later, Kazahana poached a muffin from the break room. Kiba sat filling in some overdue paperwork. And Toushi went out on assignment to explore the Wilderness.
